Most of our cabins are fitted with a standard 19mm tongue and groove floor. We use celotex insulation with laminate flooring, real wood flooring or thick plywood above for carpeting.
Log Cabin Floor As An Option
You will no doubt have noticed that our log cabins have an "optional" floor and, perhaps like some customer reviews in the past, you will be appalled. Log cabins aren't like sheds, they don't have a floor to sit on, and the floor doesn't rest on supports like a shed, a log cabin is different, or at least ours are . If it's spruce flooring you want we can help, you're unlikely to find it cheaper from a local timber dealer, so please add it to your order as an option. That's why we give you the option, do you really want us to add the cost of a floor to your log cabin when you might not even need it? To save time we have already done our own calculations for our own Log Cabins which can be selected in the "Log Cabin Selector" box above, these calculations have been done to allow for some tolerance. We only supply the laminate packs themselves, they do not include other items that may be needed to complete the process such as joists, subfloor, skirting or underlayment. Laminate flooring is installed as a floating floor, similar to our Log Cabin floors. If underfloor heating is used in the cabin, please ensure that it is installed correctly and that a temperature of 27°C must not be observed under the floor.
